Passivity-Based Decentralized Criteria for Small-Signal Stability of Power Systems With Converter-Interfaced Generation

With the increasing penetration of converter-interfaced generation, it would be advantageous to specify local grid-connectivity criteria ensure small-signal stability interconnected system, rather than carrying out centralized studies every time connection a new device is contemplated. Passivity admittance, which an example criterion, has been used previously avoid resonances between systems and lightly damped oscillatory modes network, but unsuitable in general due conservative nature passivity. Therefore, composite set are proposed this paper, include time-scale separation (slow-fast clustering) constraints on transient behaviour, distinct passivity for slow fast clusters. The application these demonstrated using case study.
